Ohio Democrat, Firefighter, And Teacher Among 161 People Arrested in Human Trafficking Sting

There was once a time when our elected officials and those in positions of power were held to the highest moral standards, but those days are long gone. In today's world of loose morals and criminal behavior, it seems anything goes, so long as you're a democrat or other protected class. If you're a Republican though, you can expect to be held to a moral standard that exceeds that of other parts of society.

We see this play out over and over again in our society. Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court Confirmation was harassed continually for an incident that supposedly occurred in his college days, but as it turned out was completely fabricated. Yet, that did not stop the Democrats from making a scene and trying to crucify him over it.

Around the beginning of October, Ohio law enforcement held a sting operation known as "Operation Ohio Knows", which is designed to engage men soliciting sex from victims of human trafficking. Fifty-one women were rescued, and a total of 161 people were arrested, three of which were arrested for meeting with a minor. One of the men arrested in the sting operation was Democrat City Councilman Mark Jessie, who is running for re-election in November. Jessie has been charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution and if convicted could face up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. This seems like a slap on the wrist for someone who should be held to higher standards as an elected official.

Also included in the arrests were a firefighter, a teacher, a professor, a pilot, and a home improvement contractor. These are people who should also be held to higher standards due to their positions in the community. However time and time again we see the lack of justice being served for these people. People in these types of positions have access to our homes, our families, and our children.

On October 4th, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, held a press conference discussing the arrests made during "Operation Ohio Knows".

Upon his arrest, the Ohio Democrat stated that “there was an immediate feeling of wanting to throw up and an immediate feeling of facing the consequences with my family and friends.” Despite his statement, Jessie has pleaded not guilty to the charges, and due to his position in local government, a special prosecutor and judge have been requested to handle the case.

Despite his arrest and the moral depravity of the crime he's being charged with, fellow Democrats and Council members are standing by Jessie in support. They have also requested privacy on behalf of his family. Council President Vic Stewart said that Jessie made a bad judgment call, but this shouldn’t be a reflection on his character. He said Jessie has been at the forefront of issues and campaigns, and he has dedicated himself to being a good Councilperson. He also went on to state that,

"He's just been a stellar citizen and representative in all ways, and he had a horrible lack of judgement."

A stellar citizen? A horrible lack of judgment? What he got caught doing, is a crime, plain and simple. These people are supposed to be protecting the most vulnerable in society, not taking advantage of them. Corruption has infiltrated every level of government, from the local level to the federal level. It seems that as long as you hold a position of power or authority, you can get away with just about anything you'd like. A slap on the wrist is at best what we can expect to see come from all of this.

However, for those on the other side, such as Brett Kavanaugh, or Donald Trump, you can expect to see every resource being utilized to throw the book at them. They are crucified for fabricated lies with falsified "evidence". They are viciously maligned by their peers and by the media. When did our world become so backward that good men are considered evil and criminals are worshipped and idolized?

It is past time that we, the people start making the changes that this world needs. We need to start holding these people accountable for their crimes. They should be punished to the fullest extent that the law allows if they are found guilty of said crime. We need to bring morals and trust back into our society, and our government. These are the people whom we elect to represent us, yet they are not representing anything we stand for. They represent only themselves and the special interest groups they are owned by. It is time to take back what is ours.
